About Kristin
Kristin Hobbs is a neurodivergent early childhood educator and educational consultant. She holds a bachelor's degree in Health Science from University of the People, with a concentration in epidemiology and behavioral health, and an associate's degree in early childhood education. She brings about 15 years of experience in early childhood education working with underserved populations, and about 10 years supporting people with disabilities, including autism, spanning work since the 1990s. She currently works with the Maryland homeschool review oversight board and teaches on Outschool. Previously she was an instructional coach for autistic adults at Daivergent and has worked with various school districts across Chicagoland. She also creates neurodivergent education resources for a growing online audience. She is also a founding vice chancellor of Global Open University Online, a nonprofit working to make higher education accessible to disabled, impoverished, and displaced learners worldwide.
Who she serves
- Autistic and neurodivergent children and teens, including level 2 and substantial support needs
- Late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults
- Parents and families
- Schools, employers, and organizations that want to be neuroinclusive in practice, not just in policy
What makes this different
Evidence-based methods: task analysis, visual supports, self-management, and person-centered planning, aligned with the National Clearinghouse on Autism Evidence and Practice. Neuroaffirming, never fear-based. Skills are taught for independence and self-determination. Lived experience: a late-diagnosed AuDHD educator, teaching from inside the experience, not just about it.
Headshot to come. A photo Kristin is happy with will go here.
